Chicken Coop Moving Day!

So, you’ve read about our chicks, their coop, and the upcycled run. Now it’s time for the real adventure: chicken moving day . Looking back, I can laugh. At the time? I was nervous , stressed , hot , cold , muddy , anxious , and eventually just tired . From Cute Chicks to a Full-Grown Logistics Problem When I bought those fluffy little chicks back in late February, the store handed me a box, I set it on my car seat, and off I went. Easy. I did not think about how I would eventually move twelve nearly full-grown chickens six miles down a bumpy country road to our property. Not one of my better “thinking-ahead” moments. I had heard people use dog crates or giant moving boxes. So once I realized I had to get them from Point A to Point B, I started researching like a madwoman. When I finally brought it up to my husband, his suggestion? “Just keep them in the coop..” Uh, what? I quickly warned him: If a chicken breaks a neck, a leg, or dies in transit, YOU are handling the aftermath. Co...

Welcome to Harvest and Handmade!

Hello there, and welcome to Harvest and Handmade!

If you’ve followed me before, you might remember my previous blog, All Things Fee. After taking several years away from blogging, I’m both excited and a little nervous to be back in this space—but I’ve missed it, and I’m ready to begin again.

So, why the new name?
Harvest and Handmade reflects where I am in life right now—more intentional, more rooted, and still just as passionate about creating. Whether it’s something grown in the garden, made by hand, or simply cultivated in daily life, this blog will be a home for sharing the things I truly value: creativity, simplicity, and the beauty of making things with purpose.

Why the break?
Like many of us, life took me in different directions. I paused to focus on family, home, and some soul-searching. Stepping away gave me the space to grow—and now I feel ready to return with new inspiration, a clearer voice, and a deeper love for handmade living.

What to expect:
I’ll be sharing DIY projects, handmade goods, seasonal ideas, and bits of everyday life—hopefully in a way that feels cozy, encouraging, and real. Think of this space as a digital porch swing. Grab a cup of tea and stay awhile.

Thanks for being here at the beginning. Whether you’re an old friend from All Things Fee or brand new to this corner of the internet—welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

—Felicia
